Ribchester, Ribble Valley

An unexpected windy but sunny day found us back to Ribchester in the Ribble Valley.
Below are images of Ribchester Roman baths and ruins.Ribchester has a very long history dating back to the Bronze Age. The Roman baths and ruins were part of cavalry
fort called Bremetennacum. Originally built in wood as far back as A.D. 72/73 by the
twentieth legion and rebuilt in stone in the early 2nd century. It is really nice to step back in time and soak up the atmosphere and survey the lovely views.
